Bulk Bag Delivery Process:

All our deliveries are made using our own small fleet of vehicles. Our two trucks are 3.5 tonne flatbed trucks with small Hiab crane arms to aid in the offloading. We will always make every effort to deliver your goods as close as possible to your requested location but we are unable to move goods further than hard road access allows.  The crane will extend to roughly 3 metres from the edge of the vehicle so can allow for some degree of flexibility but the majority of our deliveries will be made kerbside or into a driveway if space allows.

Most of our deliveries are fulfilled by one person. If you’re not going to be in when we deliver, please give us instructions on where you’d like your goods to be placed.

For restricted access, please get in touch with us to discuss a solution.  If ordering firewood and access is limited, we’d recommend our barrow bags or net bags which can be wheeled on a trolley along pathways.

Particularly popular in the city, or where crane access is not possible, we offer barrow bags. These can be wheeled up garden paths and into ground floor stairwells. Very steep ground or flights of stairs will not be possible but the delivery person will do everything within reason to be helpful. Net bags are always an option for particularly difficult to reach places.

Delivery Times:

We always aim to deliver your goods within 5-7 working days of placing an order. During busier periods, this can sometimes take longer but we will endeavor to keep within 14 days.  We will confirm your delivery date with you, usually by text, email or telephone prior to delivery.  If you have any specific requirements, please get in touch with us or leave us a comment on your order and we will do our best to accommodate these. Normally our deliveries are made between 0900 and 1630, Mon-Fri.

Pricing

The basket page will automatically calculate the correct delivery charge based on your order and postcode. Below is a table detailing how these charges are applied based on the distance from our postcode (EH46 7HL) to the destination.

Please note that we define a bulk item as:

  • 1 bulk bag
  • 3 barrow bags
  • 10 net bags
  • 10 packs of Hotties heat logs

Please note also that small products such as kindling do not incur any additional shipping charges but that they cannot be ordered unless in in combination with larger products. This means that it’s a good idea to stock up on kindling when you buy your large bags of logs! Delivery prices shown below are inclusive of VAT at 20%

Kerbside Delivery Process:

We aim to make the delivery process smooth, convenient and accomodate requests whenever possible. Normally, deliveries are undertaken by our 3.5t flatbed trucks (equipped with a mini Hiab crane).

We will always make every effort to deliver your goods as close as possible to your requested location but we are unable to move goods further than hard road access allows.

It can be hugely helpful if you can provide a what3words reference of your location when placing your order.

Our drivers are experienced, skilled and will take a practical approach to the safe handling of your delivery. With safety as our top priority, they will assess whether it is reasonable to offload in any unusual scenarios (over fences, into tight spaces etc.)

Stairs, steep slopes and slippery surfaces are generally not suitable for deliveries and alternative locations must be sought if anything is deemed unsafe by the driver.

Lead Times

We usually achieve a very short turnaround time for deliveries within a 50 mile radius - around 5 working days. This can extend at peak times of year but we've also been known to manage same day deliveries when conditions allow. Again, we are able to be flexible and we will endeavor to deliver at a time convenient to you from 9am to 4pm Mon-Fri.

It is helpful when placing your order if you can let us know any day/time you cannot accept delivery as well as any restrictions on access. The more information you can give us, the smoother the whole process can be.

Pricing:

For most deliveries using our own vehicles we will charge £2+vat per mile from our postcode (EH46 7HL) to the destination postcode.

Deliveries requiring an external haulage contractor, forklift offload, offroad access or any other special requirement can be arranged by contacting us and are £POA.
