Scottish forestry and woodland news

Here are a few pictures from the driver's seat of Treeline's 1968 Massey Ferguson 35 "Daphne" while taking part in this years Blyth Bridge Tractor Run.

The tractor run is a great event organised annually by Anne and Stan Weir to raise money for Macmillan Nurses.  50-60 vintage tractors wreak havoc around 55 miles of beautiful Borders scenery. The route taking them from Blyth Bridge to St Mary's Loch via Tweedsmuir and returning through Peebles, where they parade through the town centre.  The first event was in 2007 and since then over £80,000 has been raised.

This was the second year that Daphne has been given a day off splitting logs to take part and she has coped excellently on both occasions.  The 8 hour, 70 mile, (including the drive to Blyth Bridge and Back) drive was a pleasure in the sunshine, at a speed at which the Borders scenery can be enjoyed properly.
